THE Chantry House behind St Mary’s Church is the venue for an evening of Mozart in aid of the Sue Ryder hospice at Nettlebed tomorrow night (Saturday).
Henley’s only Grade I listed building will play host to the Chiltern Chamber Group for a concert starting at 7.30pm.
The evening’s programme will centre on two major Mozart works — the
Quintet for Piano and Winds (K452) and
Serenade for Wind Octet (K388).
The Chiltern Chamber Group is a mixture of amateur and professional musicians. Two of the members are full-time students at the Royal College of Music and two others are professionals.
A spokesman for Sue Ryder said: “What better way could there be to enjoy a Saturday evening in February, when it will probably be wet and certainly cold, than to be lulled by Mozart in the most splendid venue of the Chantry House, enjoy a glass of wine and know that you are supporting such a worthy cause?”
Tickets are £15 (£12 concessions) and include an interval glass of wine. They can be booked through the Henley parish office on (01491) 577340 or by calling 0118 940 2119.
