JULY was a warm and dry month.
A modest 16mm of rain fell in Shiplake, a third of the average for July, and most of that was on one day.
Interestingly, that total was beaten on the first day of this month when more than 17mm fell.
July’s mean minimum and maximum temperatures were 11.1C and 23.3C respectively, slightly above the average for the month.
The thermometer reached 33C on July 19.
There have now been only two months so far this year, March and April, when there was not a slight year-on-year temperature increase.
Once again, my thanks to Denis Gilbert, from Shiplake, for the statistics.
