Snow and ice still causing havoc

Gillotts School in Henley was shut today (Monday) because the heating is not working

Gillotts School in Henley was shut today (Monday) because the heating is not working.

Headteacher Catharine Darnton posted a message on the secondary school?s website saying that the boilers were broken.

It shut an hour early last Friday due to snow which continued to fall over the weekend.

The winter also closed The Henley College this morning, except for those students taking exams. Evening classes are still scheduled.

Elsewhere, Sonning Common Primary School and Lewknor Primary School were both closed due to snow but they are expected to re-open tomorrow.

Members of the Lions Club of Henley and town council staff were out clearing the snow in Henley town centre over the weekend.

As of this morning, the main roads were clear but the pavements remained slippery in places.
