Workshops on nature

A SERIES of workshops are to be held at the Withy- mead Nature Reserve, near Goring.

A SERIES of workshops are to be held at the Withy- mead Nature Reserve, near Goring.

On September 7, there will be a four-hour session on identifying moths.

Tutor Adrian Hickman will show participants how to catch moths in a light trap and classify them by their markings.

The workshop runs from 6pm to 10pm and there will be a chance to practise catching moths until midnight.

On September 21, warden Keith Tomey will give an introduction to plant galls, which are small habitats built by insects on leaves and branches.

On October 5, there will be a workshop on spiders. Expert Lawrence Bee will give a talk before showing how to find them in the field.

The second and third workshops run from 10am to 4pm.
