Footpath cleared

AN overgrown footpath in Watlington has been cleared.

AN overgrown footpath in Watlington has been cleared.

Staff from Oxfordshire County Council’s countryside service and the Ramblers carried out the work on the path, which runs alongside West Meadow.

Watlington Parish Council has thanked them.

Tree warden Tom Bindoff said: “The problem had become too great for volunteers locally to deal with and it shows what the county can do with the proper resources.

“The scheme will be finished off with some levelling and rolling as the weather improves.”

The area is popular with dog walkers and visitors.
