THE phone lines at Greys Court have been ringing off the hook with people wanting to know when the wisteria in the walled garden will be in full flower.

Louise Walker, visitor experience manager at the National Trust property, said: ?We?re delighted that our visitors are as excited as we are about the wisteria flowering. It?s a truly amazing sight.

?However, we?ve had to put a message on our telephone answering system just so that we can get some work done! We?re also putting a countdown on our Facebook page.?

The wisteria was planted by the Stapleton family in 1890 and consists of two vines, wisteria floribunda and wisteria sinensis. The wall was built around the wisteria in the Fifties.

The plants began to flower this week.
