SIX gardens in Hambleden will be open to the public on Saturday, June 13 to raise money for the maintenance of the village hall.

These include Burrow Farm, Little Colstrope, The Yard and Woolleys.

Helen Turner, a member of the Hambleden village hall committee, said: “It really is a great opportunity to see the wonderful gardens and grounds behind the fences of these beautiful country homes.

“Please come along â?? you will not be disappointed.

The open gardens event coincides with the monthly market in the village hall, where tea and cakes will be available. Tea and cakes will also be available at Burrow Farm together with tickets for a raffle.

The raffle prizes include bed and breakfast for two at the Stag and Huntsman pub in the village, a round of golf for four at Harleyford Golf Club, cream tea for two at Danesfield House Hotel and dinner for two at the Frog at Skirmett.

Tickets cost £1 and the draw will take place in the village hall at 5pm on the day.

The gardens will be open from 1pm to 5pm and entrance is £8 for all six gardens or £3 per garden (free entry for children).

Last year, the same open gardens event raised more than £3,000.
