AN open afternoon will be held at Watlington chalk pits on Saturday, June 27 from 2pm to 4.30pm.
Situated at the edge of Watlington on Hill Road opposite Watlington Hill, this is a local nature reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest.
It is a mixture of scrub and grassland with a diverse range of interesting flowers and wildlife.
It is managed by Watlington Environment Group on behalf of the parish council.
The open afternoon will feature guided walks, a nature-based treasure trail for children and refreshments. Entry is free. Visitors are asked to park considerately and away from the sharp bend.
