WITH only one mild frost and daytime temperatures in double figures each day, last month was the warmest December on record in Shiplake.
I even cut the grass on one dry day.
The mean temperature of 10C was five degrees above the norm and the highest was over 15C.
There was 63mm of rain, the average for December, but the river level was only three inches higher than in the summer.
As we all know, those in parts of the North and Scotland have been far less fortunate.
My thanks, as always, to Denis Gilbert, from Shiplake, for the statistics.
