A WEATHER warning was issued for Henley and Oxfordshire today in the wake of Storm Imogen, which battered the South-West last night.

The Met Office recorded gusts of wind of between 60mph and 70mph in the area during the night and warned residents to beware of the weather getting worse.

Rail services in and out of London Paddington were affected by delays and cancellations.

Southern England and South Wales faced the brunt of the storm with gales hitting 96mph at The Needles, off the Isle of Wight. More than 5,500 homes lost power and some cross-Channel ferry services were cancelled.
