I HAVE been to see the post box in Hart Street painted gold to honour Henley’s Olympic rowers.

I was shocked to discover footprints on the top of the box, which were undoubtedly caused by someone who had been standing in wet paint.

However, there were no gold, or patchy, footprints leading away from the scene of the crime so we will never know the culprit.
