TWO Leander rowers have earned places on the sport’s world ranking list following the London Olympics.
Anna Watkins and Pete Reed have made the top 10 list after winning gold medals at the Games.
To be eligible to appear on the list, athletes have to have medalled at the world rowing championships or the Olympics during one year.
Watkins, who is unbeaten in the women’s double sculls with partner Katherine Grainger since 2009, made the number eight spot.
The 31-year-old has achieved 10 ranking points since 2007, five from gold medal wins, one from silver and four from bronzes.
Grainger, who had won three Olympic silver medals prior to London, is in fifth place in the list.
Reed, a double Olympic men’s four champion, entered the men’s list at number four.This year, he has earned 11 ranking points, made up of eight gold and three silver medals.
