SONNING COMMON will have a new county councillor representing it for the first time in 12 years.
Conservative Carol Viney, who was born in the village, lost the candidacy for elections in May to David Bartholomew, from Shiplake, in a vote by party members.
Parish councillor Nick Launders said the move had left the parish council in an “awkward position”.
A new Sonning Common division is likely to incorporate Shiplake and Harpsden but not Kidmore End.
