TWO car parks in Peppard have been resurfaced. Almost 40 tonnes of planings were used to extend the car park at the war memorial hall and the surplus was bought by the parish council to resurface the car park at the Gallowstree Road crossroads.

Councillor Clive Mills said the crossroads car park was much better but the surface was still not perfect.

“After the winter we will come back and get any final holes,” he said. “The problem is we can’t put any drainage in. The material is the only one the conservators will allow us to use. It is a dark material and blends into the area.”

Councillor Nick Launders said that the car park at the sports pavilion off Stoke Row Road also needed resurfacing but it could not be done with planings.

“It is a different problem to the one at the crossroads,” he said. Cllr Mills said a survey should be carried out to determine what work was needed.
