HENNERTON Golf Club will host a charity dinner and dance next Friday (December 14).
Stuntman Gary Connery, who performed at the Olympic opening ceremony, will launch the evening with a talk about his experiences as a body double for the Queen.
Mr Connery, from Henley, made history in May when he became the first person to complete a 2,400ft skydive without using a parachute.
A three-course meal will be followed by a small auction with lots including rowing with three Olympians, pictures by celebrity photographer Hugo Bernand and hospitality tickets to see England play at Wembley. The evening will finish with music from swing band the Luke Steele Quintet.
The fund-raiser is aid of Ufton Adventure, an outdoor residential centre that teaches the most disadvantaged children survival skills, rafting, archery, canoeing and leadership. The children come from the most deprived five per cent of England in relation to education and crime.
Tickets for the dinner and dance cost £100 and can be bought by calling 01189 832099 or sending an email to philippa.stannard@ufton court.co.uk
