HENLEY TOWN FC has been nominated for the Waitrose Community Matters award this month.
The supermarket’s Bell Street branch chose the football club, which is based at the Triangle ground in Mill Lane, to benefit from its charity scheme.
Each month, it donates £1,000 to three local groups or organisations.
Customers collect tokens at the till and put them in a box for the charity of their choice. At the end of the month, the money is shared between the organisations according to the proportion of tokens each received.
The Lilywhites’ caretaker manager Roy Hanley said: “Henley is a great community club and provides a lot of help and support to local mini and youth football teams.”
