MUSIC on the Meadows will be held again in Henley next year.
The festival will take place in Mill Meadows on July 19 following approval from the town council.
About 2,000 people attended the inaugural event in June when almost 100 young singers, musicians and actors performed on the bandstand at the riverside picnic spot. Mayor Stefan Gawrysiak, who led the organisers, said: “People had a great time and the meadows were left spotless at the end of the night.
“We thought we would push back the date of next year’s event to the end of term so it can be a celebration as it will be after exam time. It is a free community event and this year made about £200 for next year’s event. People appreciated that — they came down, bought a beer and a burger and had a great time.”
* The annual Thames Traditional Boat Rally will also take place on July 19 and the following day.
