THE fifth annual Christmas tree festival at St Leonard’s Church in Watlington will begin tomorrow (Saturday).
Thirty-seven trees have been decorated by families, schoolchildren, shops and organisations to represent this year’s theme of “Tell me a story”.
The trees will represent stories including The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Danny, Champion of the World, Wind in the Willows and Alice in Wonderland.
Janet Vaughan, chairman of the Friends of St Leonard’s, said: “It is an event we look forward to because it involves the whole community and the decorating is always great fun.”
Father Christmas will switch on the lights at 3pm followed by informal carol singing. Mulled wine and mince pies will be served.
The trees were supplied by the Tree Barn in Christmas Common. The festival will run daily from 2pm to 5pm until December 21.
