ALADDIN and his genie entertained pupils at two primary schools in Henley.
The pair — alias actors James Clifford and Rochelle Parry — were promoting the Kenton Theatre’s Christmas pantomime Aladdin, which opens on Thursday.
Their first visit was to Badgemore Primary School, where they explained the story to pupils in a five-minute comedy routine.
Aladdin told the children about his evil uncle Abanazar, the panto villain, and then pulled teaching assistant Matthew Shanahan up on stage and encouraged the pupils to boo him. The actors then went to Trinity School for its Christmas bazaar, where there were stalls selling toys, books, gifts and cakes.
Children dressed in pyjamas and there were also temporary tattoo and hair colouring stands.
The event raised more than £1,100 for Oxfam.
Marianna Kuehner, a mother who organised the event with Seona Jorgenson, said: “We do this every year and the children absolutely loved it. They’d been excited about it all week.”
Aladdin runs until December 28.
