ENTRIES are being invited for this year’s Chilterns Buildings Design Awards.
Homeowners, architects and developers are being encouraged to enter the awards, which are organised by the Chilterns Conservation Board and the Chiltern Society.
Last year one of the winning buildings was the Sawmills in Marlow Road, Henley, a new office built in the style of a barn for the Bremont watch company.
Colin White, planning officer at the Conservation Board, said: “We want to encourage better building design and for architects and developers to use traditional, local materials and designs in their work.
“We are not trying to turn back the clock or to prevent progress but we do believe that new buildings in the Chilterns should fit in with the beautiful countryside that’s around them.”
Industrial and public buildings as well as conversions are eligible for the awards. The closing date for entries or nominations is March 1. Application forms are available from the Conservation Board office on 01844 355500 or email office@chilterns aonb.org
