A CHILDREN’S nursery celebrated its 10th anniversary with a pink-themed party.
Staff and children at the Bishopswood Day Nursery in Gallowstree Common wore pink and the kitchen staff made pink biscuits for all to enjoy. There was also a birthday cake with pink and white icing.
In the evening, there was a tea party for staff including managers Sarah Wavell and Melissa Thomas.
When the nursery opened in 2004 there were just two rooms in use, one for babies and one for toddlers, while the rest of the building was being decorated. Now it uses five rooms, each with its own outdoor space.
About 130 children, aged from six weeks to five years, are registered with the nursery and there are 35 members of staff.
Deputy manager Amy Walker, 26, said: “We are proud that we are still getting busier after 10 years. We get a lot of word-of-mouth recommendations and that is how we get most of our business.
“We have dedicated staff and are always receiving positive comments about how friendly the team is.”
