OLYMPIC swimming champion Adrian Moorhouse will take part in the Henley Classic swim next Sunday.
The GB athlete, who won gold at Seoul in 1988, has entered to celebrate turning 50 this year.
Up to 750 people are due to take part in the event, which is now in its 10th year, but places are still available. Competitors will set off from Temple Island at 4.30am and swim the length of the 2.1km royal regatta course.
Before that, there will be a varsity swimming match between students from Oxford and Cambridge universities.There will be a pasta party on the river bank at Remenham the night before, starting at 8pm. This includes a speech by cross-Channel swimmer Cliff Golding. Entry is £13.
