HENLEY town hall will take part in a national “lights out” event to mark 100 years since the outbreak of the First World War.
All lights in the hall will be extinguished from 10pm to 11pm on Monday, August 4, with one candle in the stained glass window at the front of the building.
Anyone who wants to take part can contact the town hall on 01491 576982.
St Nicholas’ Church in Rotherfield Greys will also hold a candlelit vigil on August 3. The lights will be put out in the church at 8.30pm and one candle left at the foot of the cross at the back of the church.
The church will also hold a number of events, starting this year and running to 2018, on the seven local men who died in the war, five whose names are on the memorial and two in the church.
