HENLEY’S long-serving cinema projectionist has died suddenly at work.
Chris Tees, 54, was found collapsed in the projection room of the Henley Regal Picturehouse in Boroma Way on Thursday last week.
Assistant manager Hilary Evans made the discovery after the 5.50pm screening failed to start.
An ambulance was called and Mrs Evans administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation but Mr Tees was pronounced dead. The cause of death has still not been determined.
His wife of 19 years, Muriel, 61, is struggling to come to terms with the loss.
She said: "He was my husband and my life. He would do anything for anyone. I know I will have to move on with my life but right now I don’t know how. It still feels like a bad dream."
Mrs Tees, from Princes Risborough, said she was grateful for the support of her daughters, Tara, 40 and Karen, 33, as well as kind words from her husband’s colleagues, adding: "I knew he was well liked at work but I never realised how much."
Mr Tees had been chief projectionist for 11 years.
