A GIRL from Henley has landed a part in the West End production of Oliver!
Olivia Dunning, 10, of Elizabeth Road, will be following in the footsteps of her great grandparents, Hilda Gray and Vincent Young, who met while performing at the Lyric Theatre.
She will begin a six-month stint as a workhouse girl in the show at the Drury Lane Theatre at the end of this month and will perform between three and four times a week.
Olivia, a pupil at Valley Road Primary School, said: "I am very excited. I really like acting and am really glad to have got the part."
Olivia has been acting since she was three with the Henley Children’s Theatre Group. She has performed at the Kenton Theatre in Cinderella, Snow White and Alladdin.
"I really want to carry on with it. I want to be a teacher who also acts, so I may be a teacher in an acting school."
Olivia’s mother Lyndsey works for a Henley estate agents, father Steven is a photographer and her brother James, six, attends Hemdean House School in Caversham and has played the violin at Henley Festival.
Mrs Dunning said: "We are all proud of her and can’t wait to see her on stage."
