INSPIRATIONAL women from the Henley area have been nominated for an award recognising special contributions to the community.
Seven residents are shortlisted for this year’s Sue Ryder Women of Achievement awards.
There are categories to acknowledge the influence of women in business, the community, sports or a creative field. Four people are shortlisted in each category.
The winners of the sixth event will be announced during a black-tie dinner and presentation evening at the Hilton Hotel in Reading on Wednesday, October 17.
The compere for the evening will be actress Jenny Hanley, a former Bond girl and presenter of the children’s TV show Magpie. She used to live in Sonning Common and ran the Crown pub at Playhatch.
