GILLOTTS SCHOOL in Henley has been forced to close early today (Monday) due to snow.
The secondary announced it would shut at 2.30pm - an hour early - due to the “worsening weather” .
Snow stopped falling in town just as the school closed. The snow began in the early hours of the morning and residents woke to find about 1cm had fallen overnight.
Traffic built up in the town centre during the day and there have been reports of queues on Remenham Hill.
The snow has turned to slush on the pavements which has made them slippery in places.
The Met Office has predicted sleet for the rest of the day with a maximum temperature of 3 degrees Centigrade. Cloud with sunny intervals is predicted for the rest of the week.
