THE B52s and the Pointer Sisters head the line-up of performers at this year’s Rewind Festival.
The Eighties music celebration, which is now in its fifth year, will take place at Temple Island Meadows, near Henley, on the weekend of August 17 and 18.
American band the B52s, who are best known for their singles Love Shack and Rock Lobster, will be making their only UK festival appearance on the Saturday.
They have not played in this country for almost 10 years.
All-girl R & B trio The Pointer Sisters, who won Grammy Awards for their hits Jump (For My Love) and Automatic, will also be making a rare UK outing on the Sunday.
Other performers include The Sugarhill Gang, Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel, ABC, Kim Wilde, Nik Kershaw, Belinda Carlisle, Billy Ocean and Chesney Hawkes.
Last year’s festival drew a capacity crowd of 20,000 visitors on each day and organisers say they are expecting another sell-out.
Promoter David Heartfield, from Rotherfield Greys, said: “There’s still a lot of organisation to do but we’re really looking forward to it and are crossing our fingers that it will be as warm as it was last year.”
Tickets will go on sale from 9am tomorrow (Friday) at www.rewindfestival.com
A four-page guide to Rewind will appear in this week’s Henley Standard.
