A WOMAN suffered a head injury after crashing her car in Watlington on Wednesday.
Her green Ford Ka veered off the B480 Howe Road and hit some bushes shortly before 7.50am.
Police and an ambulance were called to the scene and paramedics treated the woman, whose head was bleeding.
The southbound side of the road was closed between 8.30am and 9.20am as the car was still on the road and had spilled fuel.
Peter Richardson, who lives on the road and has been campaigning for it to be made safer, said: “If she’d hit a tree she would have come off far worse.
“The police had to shut the road in the height of rush hour, which delayed a lot of people who had to get to work and school.”
Mr Richardson, 68, said there had been a number of crashes on the road, which was recently reduced from a 60mph zone to 40mph following complaints of drivers speeding.
He is also concerned about the number of heavy goods lorries that use the road.
The issue will be discussed at a Watlington Parish Council meeting at the Fox and Hounds in Christmas Common on September 30.
