THE Henley Young Partnership has been commended in the Towns Alive! Awards.
It was honoured in both the business and economy category and the partnership and strategic working category for the southern region.
Members of the partnership received a certificate which will be displayed at Gillotts School, which has supported the initiative.
The partnership was set up as a working group of the Henley Partnership in March last year in order to provide better links between schools and colleges and local businesses and community organisations.
Projects included an annual Dragons’ Den-style competition and designing flyers and posters for the Henley Living Advent Calendar.
There have also been various masterclasses from local business people. Gillotts deputy headteacher Elsa Torres said: “We are very excited to be working with local individuals, businesses and charities through the Henley Young Partnership and are looking at new ways in which this sort of relationship can develop.
“We are delighted that the Henley Partnership sees its involvement not as pure philanthropy but as a genuine investment in the students of Henley and the future of the country.”
