MORE than 300 people attended a Love Local Christmas market at Henley town hall.
About 30 stallholders were selling festive goods including clothes, candles, decorations, crockery and chocolates.
Among them were girls from Queen Anne’s School in Caversham, who sold tie-dyed T-shirts and kitchenware made from old vinyl records as part of their business studies.
Hannah Skaanild, an author from Wargrave, was selling books from her children’s series Just A Cat... And That Is That and donating all the proceeds to the Millie’s Dream appeal.
Co-organiser Sarah Kirk (above right) said: “It went really well and we had so many lovely comments. Lots of people got in touch afterwards asking for the stallholders’ details so they could buy more from them.”
Mrs Kirk and Lynne Lambourne (above left), from Peppard, set up Love Local in 2011 to bring small artesan businesses together. They were inspired by the Henley Standard’s Think Local campaign.
