Tower House, Shiplake, holds Christmas party
Published 21/12/13

A CHRISTMAS party for residents and their families was held at the Tower House care home in Shiplake on Saturday.

More than 100 guests attended the celebration which also marked the 20th anniversary of the home, which is run by Bridget Kidd and her daughter Sinead and has 11 residents.

Guests included town councillor Jeni Wood and her husband Barry and Wokingham borough councillor John Halsall. Mulled wine and mince pies were served and everyone joined in with a Christmas carols singalong around a piano.

Councillor Wood said: Ive got several friends living here and when the Mayor couldnt attend I was delighted to come along and represent Henley town council. Everybody who lives here is happy and so are their families and you cant ask for more than that.

Mrs Kidd said: We are a small family-run home and that allows us to be more intimate. The residents here can have anything they want, whenever they want its their home.

Resident Lorna Templeman, 88, added: I will have been here three years at the end of February and its excellent. They take great care of us.
