Visitors hold out for a share of the spoils
Published 28/04/15

STONOR travelled to WHITE WALTHAM to play on a pitch with a fast outfield and true wicket.

The hosts batted first and were quickly past 100 with only 12 overs bowled. Powell, Bradshaw and Hunt bowled the majority of overs and Mayo picked up four wickets towards the end of the innings with his flight and guile. White Waltham finished their innings on 254-6.

Stonor took to the field with three father and son combinations — Lovatt, Hunt and Mayo.

The visitors started well with Mayo and Powell dealing competently with tight opening bowling from Beard and Scarborough but with so many runs to chase and a couple of wickets falling their middle order managed to hold out for a draw as they closed on 136-5.
