THOUSANDS of tickets for this year’s Henley Festival were sold with 48 hours of going on general sale on Monday.
The 32nd annual festival, which will feature Bryan Ferry, Burt Bacharach, Joss Stone, Rebecca Ferguson and The Jacksons, will be take place from July 9 to July 13.
Marketing manager Jo Bausor said: “Ticket sales have been phenomenal. We already have limited availability in the grandstand so people will have to book quickly.
“Bryan Ferry seems to be the most popular act, along with the Jacksons, but everyone is almost neck and neck in terms of sales.
“We are delighted with the big response and would like to thank the people of Henley for their support after all the business with the proposed move this year.”
In October, the festival agreed a new deal to stay at the royal regatta site after planning to move to Henley Business School.
The U-turn came after protests from some festival supporters.
A total of 5,000 tickets are available for each night of the black-tie event, which also offers fine dining, comedy shows, art exhibitions and street theatre performers.
Each evening’s performance will be followed by the traditional fireworks.
