Landlady with a love of the outdoors
Published 14/04/14

JEANETTA FASSNIDGE (née Blattner) died peacefully after a short illness in Cornwall on April 8, aged 80, comforted by her daughter Andrea and son-in-law Simon.

Jeanetta was born on January 12, 1934 in Islington, the eldest of four children.

She took the role of parent after her mother died when she was 12.

Jeanetta was preceded in death by her mother Maude and father Ludvig, sister Valery Murray, brother John and grandson Josh.

Jeanetta lived in and around Henley for more than 45 years.

She was always seen with her hat and matching gloves walking around Henley or feeding the swans, with a smile for everyone.

Having worked hard all her life, Jeanetta finally retired two years ago from cooking many meals, pulling pints and laughing behind the bar with her many admiring customers and friends.

Jeanetta’s love of the outdoors could be seen by everyone as she rode around on the buses and gardened, passing the time of day with her neighbours who loved her too.

Devoted mother to daughter Andrea and son Gray, Jeanetta will be much missed by all her family and many friends.

Always laughing and smiling. Never forgotten. Forever loved.

A private cremation will take place for Jeanetta’s immediate family. Details of a service to celebrate her life will be announced soon.

In lieu of flowers, any donations should be made to Jeanetta’s chosen charity, Cancer Research UK.
