THE May Day fun run organised by the Henley Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society for charity will take place in Temple Island Meadows on bank holiday Monday, starting at 11am.
More than 200 runners will cover a distance of 5.2 miles along the Thames towpath to Leander, then along Remenham Lane to Aston, passing the Flower Pot pub where water will be available.
The route then goes down to the Aston Ferry and rejoins the towpath, passing Hambleden Lock and back to the Meadows.
Refreshments will be available at the finish.
The entry fee is £8 in advance and £10 on the day.
There will be trophies for the winners and runners-up in the men’s and women’s sections and trophies for the winning junior girl and boy (under 16).
Medals will be awarded to all finishers.
The run is an annual fixture that attracts runners from all over the South with ages ranging from four to over 70.
Entry forms are available from Richard Evans by emailing email@example.com Runners can also register on the day but are recommended to arrive by 10.15am. Parking will be available near the field.
Due to a minor accident in a previous year entrants on bicycles will not be permitted.
