A CLOTHES shop that has been in Henley for 18 years is to close this summer.
Vanessa Lakatos, owner of Deep Clothing in Reading Road, said her lease will run out at the end of August and the store would trade as normal until then.
But she said: 'We're not going out of business because we're broke. I just want to do something different.
'I hope it carries on being an independent. It's really important — they're what make the town a good place to shop. Henley is a small town and it's a great community. We have had customers coming here for years and I've sort of watched their children grow up.'
The business has been based at its current site for 10 years and used to have an outlet home in New Street, where Mrs Lakatos now lives.
Customers and passers-by will be familiar with her dog Java, whom she rescued. Java likes to sit in the shop doorway and be petted.
