Local piano teacher to scale new heights
Published 01/06/14

A piano teacher from Henley is to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for charity. Isabel Gann, 53, and fellow residents Sharon Cleary, Kirsten Hesketh and Claire Tudgay, along with Ellen Leith, from Sonning Common, are to attempt to scale Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in less than 12 hours on September 13.

Mrs Gann is raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support as her half-brother Thaddeus Dobrowolski died from the disease about 15 years ago, aged 51.

She said: I love the countryside and walking and I feel very happy about doing it because of my half-brother.

Mrs Gann will hold a fund-raising concert featuring her own compositions at her home at 34 Deanfield Road on Wednesday from 12.30pm to 1pm and all are welcome. To make a donation, visit www.justgiving.com/isabel-gann
