MORE than 200 people attended Binfield Heath’s annual village day.
Residents set up stalls selling plants, home-made cakes, books, DVDs and bric-a-brac and there was a barbecue and licensed bar. A treasure hunt, table tennis tournament and rubber-chicken throwing competition took place.
The event, organised by the Binfield Heath Village Society, raised £1,500 for the upkeep of village amenities. Society member and parish council chairwoman Elisabeth Ransom said: “It was a huge success. Lots of people turned up and the sun shone for us. We ordered double the amount of food and drink we had last year but we still sold out of everything.
“Everyone I spoke to afterwards said they’d had a lovely time.”
