A BOAT party was held to raise money for the Henley and Bled Twinning Association.
Fifty people attended the event on board the New Orleans on the Thames in Henley and raised £500.
Henley was twinned with the Slovenian town last year. Among the guests were Tine Murn, head of UK and Ireland communications for the Slovenian embassy, and Miha Erman, first counsellor to the Slovenian embassy.
Guests tasted four Slovenian wines and food was provided by Melanie Hobbs, of Hobbs of Henley. The event was organised by Steve Bennett, chairman of the Association, who said: “It is fantastic to see how much interest has been generated in Bled and Slovenia in the short space of time since we twinned.”
In August, the association will host visitors from Bled who will attend the Town and Visitors’ Regatta.
