A MAN was taken to hospital after he was involved in a collision with a car in Henley town centre.
Police said he was using the pedestrian crossing in Hart Street when the accident with a Ford Focus estate happened at about 5.20pm on Tuesday.
He was left lying in the road and police closed the street for about 40 minutes as officers spoke to witnesses and an ambulance crew treated the man. Queues built up on roads throughout the town as rush-hour traffic was redirected along Bell Street.
The man, who is in his forties, was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading with a minor head injury.
The car driver, who pulled up outside the Catherine Wheel, was spoken to by police but was not arrested.
Witnesses are asked to call Pc Matt Bowden, of the Abingdon Roads Policing Unit, via the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number, 101.
