Footpaths more accessible for the disabled Comments(0)
Members of the Reading Association for the Blind and Checkendon Parish Council are pictured above shortly before taking part in an inaugural ramble at Hammonds End on Monday.
To mark the replacing of six stiles in the area with kissing gates, the organised walks will now be fully accessible to anybody with a disability, which otherwise would not have been possible.
Funding for the new kissing gates was provided by Oxfordshire’s Environment Trust and the landfill communities fund with money provided by Grundon Waste Management.
