CHEFS with eight Michelin stars between them will be demonstrating at Le Cordon Bleu Henley Food Festival.
The line-up, unveiled this week, features top names including John Campbell and Atul Kochhar alongside local chefs such as Paul Clerehugh and Tom Kerridge.
But Antony Worrall Thompson, from Harpsden, will not be there because he will be filming in Brunei. His spokeswoman said: “Antony will be very sorry not to attend as he is a big fan of the festival and wishes it well.”
Jason Atherton also pulled out this week for “family reasons” but organisers say they will replace him.
UKTV Food’s Market Kitchen show has confirmed it will be coming to the festival with its own “mini kitchen” along with Aaron Craze, winner of Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen in 2002.
Italian chefs Giancarlo Caldesi and Gino d’Acampo will be performing a double act in the Caldesi A’Amici in Campagna arena and Mike Robinson will demonstrate how to skin and cook game.
Other highlights include a patisserie display by Julie Walsh of Le Cordon Bleu cookery school and the final of the amateur chef cook-off challenge, judged by Mr Robinson and chef instructor Stuart Connibear.
Festival organiser Chris Barber, who was Prince Charles’s personal chef for 11 years, said: “We are very excited about the quality of the chef demonstrators this year, as are all the chefs. I am confident we will be seeing cooking of the highest order.”
