THE hunt is on for Kip the kestrel who was scared off by red kites while performing for children at Trinity School in Henley on Monday.
The school had booked falconer Steve Wright to provide a demonstration of birds of prey at the school. He turned up with the kestrel and six other birds but Kip, who he has owned for three years, was spooked by the kites and failed to return.
On Wednesday, Mr Wright, of Stratford-upon-Avon, said he had received a report that a kestrel had been seen sitting on a bird table in a garden in Sonning Common.
He added that Kip was very tame and once he had found an area, he would settle down there. “I would ask anyone who sees Kip, who is still wearing his bell and traces, to call me.”
He can be contacted on 01789 415437.
