Town medals for local community heroes
Published 07/03/13

A rowing coach and volunteer worker have been honoured for years of supporting the community.

Chris Boothroyd and Ian McGaw were each presented with the Henley Town Medal by Mayor Elizabeth Hodgkin at a special ceremony at the town hall last night (Wednesday).

Mr Boothroyd has served on the Henley Rowing Club committee for 30 years during which time he has been captain, secretary and vice-president.

Mr McGaw, a member of Henley Bridge Rotary Club, was a governor of The Henley College for 13 years, vice-chairman and chairman of the Henley Citizens’ Advice Bureau and was also the organiser of the Henley Half Marathon for nine years.
