elderly residents of Wargrave and Charvil were among more than 120 people who attended a Christmas party called Be a Santa to a Senior in Twyford. The annual party was organised by local organisations including Home Instead Senior Care, Age Concern and Hare Hatch Sheeplands garden centre. Chef Darren Blunden provided food and there was entertainment from mthe Colleton School choir. Gordon Storey of the Twyford Village Partnership, dressed as Father Christmas to hand out gifts to guests and Maidenhead MP and Home Secretary Theresa May also attended. Volunteer drivers transported the guests to and from the venue and volunteers from the Piggott School in Wargrave helped out on the day. Mr Storey said: “The team worked long hours but completely transformed the hall into a winter wonderland.” Paul Westgarth, of Home Instead, said: “It was nice to see more people from the wider area, particularly Wargrave, at the event this year. When it was time to wind up there was universal agreement among those present that we must do it again next year.”
