Post office to close for three-week makeover

Post office to close for three-week makeover

HENLEY post office is to close for refurbishment on March 28.

The branch in Reading Road will re-open on April 18 with more than 12 extra hours of trading every week. The main post office counters will be open from 9am to 5.30pm from Monday to Saturday while the retail counter will offer selected post office services from 8.30am to 6pm during the week, 8.30am to 5.30pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm every Sunday.

Customers of banks will be able to deposit and withdraw cash, check their balance and pay bills.

While the work is carried out, the nearest alternative will be the post office in Station Road, Shiplake.

Post Office area manager Michael Brennan said: “We’re making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their post and do their banking because we know how important these services are.

“We’re confident that this vibrant, new-style post office will meet customer needs.”
