Commuter attraction

HENLEY and Sonning have been named in the top 50 most attractive places to live for people commuting to London.

Country Life magazine chose the most attractive and convivial villages and towns with a fast and regular train service to the capital.

Oxfordshire was the top county in terms of the number of towns/villages featured, with a total of eight, more than Surrey, Kent and Essex, all with six.

The magazine highlighted Henley’s “residential roads lined with large houses boasting wrought-iron gates topped with eagles” and Sonning’s festival and regatta.
