Barn conversion with a ‘Nordic’ feel

Barn conversion with a ‘Nordic’ feel
THE owner of a barn conversion in Ewelme has described it as being “like a blanket that wraps round you and keeps you safe and warm”.

The Carthouse is a former agricultural cart shed that was professionally and skilfully converted some 16 years ago to create a wonderful light and spacious detached five-bedroom family home.

Suzanne James has lived there for four years having moved there from Marlow, seduced by the beautiful property and its wonderful location.

Now she is looking to move back to her roots and is reluctantly putting her home on the market.

“It is an unusual barn conversion in that it has a really warm, Scandinavian feel. Quite often barn conversions can feel like very large open spaces but this one has all the proportions and character but still feels really cosy.”
