THE inspiration behind a magnificent architecturally designed home stemmed from the current owners’ extensive travels across Asia and America. Ossicles in English Lane, Newnham Hill, Henley is a unique, custom-built contemporary home set in a stunning location.
The house breaks from tradition in every aspect and offers visually stimulating open-plan living throughout. Set in woodland, the property embraces its immediate environment, giving you the sense that you are very much a part of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Owners David and Antoinette Gray have lived there for four years with their 11-year-old son but are moving to Yorkshire as he prepares to attend Ampleforth College.
And after putting their hearts and souls into the design, David said it will be a real wrench to leave.
There was originally a thatched cottage on the site which caught fire and burnt down. The site was bought by a consultant at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London who named it Ossicles after a small bone in the ear.
